What a lovely day.
We went out for breakfast, just the four of us, for the first time since James was born. We’d gone out with my dad assisting before, but never just us. It was so good to be out as a family, and to get outta the house in general, lol. I’ve been cooped. Had a couple tough days because of it too, I reckon, so this was a much needed positive experience.

We went to the library after breakfast, where Erica successfully used a public potty for the first time! She played really well even though it had been a while since we’d been there. She does more dramatic play now than before, when she was mostly just exploring the items they have there. It’s so lovely to watch her blossom. Also terrifying. It’s happening so quickly. They weren’t kidding when they warned us it went too fast.

I helped her balance on a little balance beam in the library garden and we drew a little bit before we left, too. She had no accidents even though we were out for two hours and was super cooperative with the whole potty procedure. I’m so proud.
Jamie was a peaceful little bean the whole time. He’s still nursing every hour to hour and a half, so I did have to nurse him in the library, but I have been relieved to find I have a lot less anxiety about public nursing this time around. And he’s a lil angel. It was so calming and wonderful to sit there and feed my lil boy while I watched my lil girl play and explore.
Home time was also good! We finally put up our four piece painting by Matt Hunter and we think it looks incredible. It was a show stopper at our old house, and it pops even more on the walls here.

We made impressions of Jamie’s hand and footprints, which we also did for Erica at three months.

We also brought inside the enormous pot we recently bought for the monstera, to see how it looks (it’s gorgeous!) and we’ll be repotting her into her new home tomorrow. She had a baby, so we’re going to try to separate them and put the baby in Mama’s old pot. Then we’ll have two magnificent monsteras, imagine!

Grandma listened in on the kids after they went to bed so that Nate and I could end the day with froyo, too. I’m beat, it was a busy day, but it was truly wonderful.
