Last night was good. A couple lovely friends from back in NC came to visit (I might have mentioned they were coming yesterday, I don’t remember), and we had such a good time we decided to get breakfast today too. After they left I played games with my friends for the first time in a while. We played Labrynthine, which is a silly spoopy game that makes me scream a lot cuz jump scares. It was a very nice evening, and my NC friends and I made tentative plans to game together and maybe see each other when Nate and I next drive down.
Breakfast was good. The coffee was so ok I didn’t have to add sugar to it, which is more than I can say for a few other places I like. A server at the restaurant called Erica ‘Pebbles’ because I had her hair in a whale spout on top of her head, and I kinda love it.
We got home and I put Erica down for a late nap, and I promptly became utterly useless. She woke up at her usual time anyways, so we practiced using a fork for lunch. She’s real bad at it. It’s great.
She seemed tired again after lunch (‘seemed’ meaning ‘screamed on the floor until I asked if she wanted night-night, at which point she sat up quietly and raised her arms for me to pick her up’) so I put her down for another nap; she has not slept. Parenthood is brain melting sometimes.
Now I have to decide if I’m gonna be a mildly useful human being and drag my daughter to the grocery store for milk and diapers. I really don’t want to. I really hate grocery shopping. Being useless all day makes me feel like I have to do something productive to redeem myself, though. And Erica needs milk for vitamin D. Sigh.
No big plans for this evening. Nate still won’t be home until tomorrow. I’ll probably melt my brain with games some more.
