I’ve been telling myself for like… weeks now? That I need to write a damn blog post. It’s been way too long. I always struggle to get started with these, and that’s true now as well, but it’s a little worse than usual because it’s been such a weird stretch of time. I suppose the read more

I think my psychiatric appointment is the only thing really of note so far today. Yesterday I did write a random opening scene for a book I don’t actually plan to write. It’s a southern/mid-western horror type thing, so I reckon it was probably inspired by watching sinners the other night, lol. It was more read more

Ok. I’m officially leaving bearblog. I switched to wordpress for more functionality – you can leave comments over there! Plus the url is way simpler. It’s just: marionmakes.com I’ll keep this site up for a while longer, but then I’ll be cancelling it. Now I just have to go through the long, arduous process of read more

This has been a really tough month. I’ve been in a pretty deep depressive episode for a few weeks now; not sure if it’s meds related or just cuz things are pretty tough right now. Or both, I guess. It’s made me struggle to be productive and complete daily quests, but there’s still stuff to read more

Spent more money on some skincare stuff last night. Middle of the night buys type shit. I’ve been thinking about buying these things for a while now though so I don’t regret it or anything – just feels funny to have done it so late. Usually not a great idea. I feel a little bad read more

Hanging out at the in laws’ today. I was too busy doing chores to post yesterday. Didn’t even game all day, it’s practically a miracle. We watched Gerald’s Game after Erica went to bed, though. It was truly excellent, but I definitely would not have been able to watch it if I hadn’t already read read more

In getting back into daily writing, I’m finding that I tend to use MS onenote for my exercises and random unplanned scenes. I get almost all the same functionality out of onenote that I do out of the program I used to write the bulk of my manuscript (scrivener, in case you’re wondering), but with read more

Erica had some kiwi with dinner, which was fun. I read some of a book on writing, it was already helpful and I’m 20pgs in. Picked the next photo I’ll be drawing from and started the outline for it, I’ll post tomorrow when the outline is complete. I’m really excited for this one. Ended out read more

wdyd when u don like the start of ur own book srs reply only thx I’m (sort of) joking…? This read through has been rough. The pacing is so slow. Things jump around too much. There’s too much fluff. I’m gonna lose my damn mind. I guess that’s what a read through is for fixing read more

Erica’s fever broke this morning, which is fantastic cuz if it hadn’t we were gonna have to take her to the doctor. I’m much relieved. Super tired today. I stayed up too late playing games and talking to friends, and then Erica had a rough night. Luckily we stayed home instead of going to the read more

Ok y’all. Been a rough week, I can’t lie. It’s been a minute since I posted. My lil girl has been sick, so I’ve been sleeping pretty terribly. She is finally at a normal temperature today, but she’s still tired and coughed a couple times this morning. Nate is finally home as of last night, read more

We took a walk and did dinner, yadda yadda. Erica did great with her second hour of patching. Proud of her. After I put her in bed I went to do some calligraphy for a friend and had this lovely moment. BUT I’m a god so I saved most of it. Then I accidentally worked read more

Spent basically the rest of the day yesterday tryna make my book’s magic systems make more sense, with the help of my husband and my brother. Unclear if there was progress or not, lol. Today, I did some research, and it is hitting me pretty hard that Erica needs to be eating a whole lot read more

Slept in a bit on accident – I’m used to Erica waking me up, but I don’t seem to hear her in the nursery the way I expected to. Gonna have to set alarms and have a baby monitor. She woke up last night and I didn’t hear her. Nate did though. Starting the day read more

Hangin out at the in laws. Zaide got some imaging done recently, so we’ll hear results from that hopefully next week. Erica slept through the night, so Nate and I got tons of sleep. I’m not crafting, today – I’m working on my book notes and planning. I need to sit down with my book read more

Cutting it close today. I did some calligraphy and wrote some letters. In true crazed artist fashion I put my hand down on wet ink; I’m pretty sure you could read words off of it now even though I’ve washed my hands. I spent a good portion of time trying to digitize my crazy whiteboard read more

Sitting here trying to find courage to write creatively, and I stumbled upon something I wrote several months ago. I still feel very similarly to this, although I wanna put in the caveat that the desire to have faith and the ability to have it are very different things, and I can wish for something read more

Happy Monday, fam. I don’t particularly want to get into the habit of posting monthlies in the middle of the month, but I’ve put it off too long at this point. I reckon it’s time to try catching people up. So uh. I think the format I’m gonna try to use is something where I read more

An insane amount of realizations and situations, including but not limited to Earnestly laughing back and forth with my kid for no reason other than to hear her laugh, reveling in the fact that she’s doing the same thing and feeling the same feeling “…does she seem sleepy to you??” Giving up a little because read more

For class we were told to read the brilliant and scathing poem “Who Said It Was Simple” by Audre Lorde and then we were given TEN MINUTES to write a poem or short story response to what we thought it was about. My blood pressure fucking skyrocketed. It has been more than ten minutes and read more

Had a good therapy session. For any who don’t know, I’ve been with the same therapist for like eight years now. Highly recommend therapy, if you can find someone who really draws you out and challenges you when needed. Prepping mentally for novel class again tonight. I’ve been anxious about it, but I’ve been able read more

Mike came over and brought some dresses for Erica, courtesy of his mom and sister. Very cute classic styles, good for when she’s older. I can’t wait til she can stand and wear dresses! We’re hella tired today, still suffering from her sleep regression. I have to find some constructive ways to critique two of read more

08 Feb, 2025 Trying a new format perhaps? 4.1? Today I got up and took two hours to make and drink my coffee, then went back to sleep from like 1030 til 1. Not my best day so far. While I was napping I did have a dream that felt like a writable plot, which read more

I started a writing class tonight, and already I’m seeing how my attitude is going to be a problem.I haven’t taken an actual class in years. The cast of characters in this continuing education group is distressing and comical, thus far. There’s Dot, whose writing strengths are ImAgInAtIoN and also that they got an artist read more
